Ibon House - Jaw-dropping lake and mountain views

We had a wonderful time at the Airbnb. It was so spacious and the views were to die for. Our family felt right at home and we never felt like we were on top of each other. We will certainly be back again.

Very luxurious house for our family. The lounge room was very comfortable and spacious. Private and quiet location. The views were better than expected. The kitchen was very extensively equipped. We celebrated my husband’s 70th birthday and it will definitely be one to remember.

The view is breathtaking and the spa great. The outside area was fun for the kids and the BBQ a nice Weber. But it is getting tired. Only one TV, an old fridge with no ice maker, and with various fuses turned off the heating downstairs was inadequate forcing some of our group to have an unpleasant night. I understand it is summer but that night it got to 6 degrees. The rules around the rubbish were a bit draconian. Allan and his team were great and delivered some batteries on a Saturday night. Ohh but that view!!!!!Wow.

An incredible home that we could not get enough of. The views in real life are far and away better than the photos, which is saying somethjng! There is always an area to sit in the sun no matter what time of day.

My family of 9 have just enjoyed a wonderful stay at Ibon House, spectacular views, close to town, plenty of space in the house, we never felt like we were on top of each other. The hot tub was a favourite amongst all of us. I would definitely recommend, and would stay again for sure!

From the moment you pull up to this house it was just so majestic! We barely ate out , and did a massive grocery shop so we could eat breakfast and dinner at home to enjoy the most breath-taking views

It was amazing view where the property facing. The first night we checked in, we refuse to go out for dinner instead order delivery to the property so that we can enjoy the view.

What a stunning house!! You can't get better than this in Queenstown. Bring your family and friends and book this place. Would love to come back in winter to see the view of the Remarkables with snow capped peaks. The entire house is stunning, but highlights are the hot tub, fireplace and the view. The host was always responsive and I can't wait to come back.

WHAT A VIEW. Great house with the most amazing views. Booking and checkin process smooth with great communication from Nick. We all had a great time in Queenstown and won’t forget waking up looking over the lake and nights by the fireplace.

The photos say it all really, great views to spend time just looking. And time well spent. Easy walk into town, Uber back!! We had a great holiday here.

Great place to stay, we stayed with extended family. Super close to everything with amazing views. Who needs a t.v with a view like that? (There is a TV - we just didn't use it).

Booking on the website was pretty straight forward and very easy to manage. It was difficult to make a decision on which property to choose as had quite a few wonderful houses to select from but we did end up going with Ibon house which exceeded our expectations. The house was clean and very spacious but the views were to die for. Definitely happy with our stay and looking forward to spending more time down there especially during winter since we have had a stint in summer. Great communication with Nicholas and quick response from Allan. Thank you very much as we had a blast and really enjoyed our time

Awesome place to stay! The views were stunning and great location to get in and out of Queenstown

We travelled to Queenstown from Christchurch with another family and stayed at Ibon House on the hill for 5 days. We enjoyed the space this home offered and the ease of being together in one place. Only issue I have with this home is that for the price we paid I would have expected the kitchen utensils to be better equipped. You can't even whip cream and cooking for 10 people you need to have equipment supplied. There is wifi however we were not able to connect to Netflix. The home is a little tried and this should reflex the cost charged. Great holiday and the views are fantastic.

Because of covid travel our group went from ten down to six.booked with Goodstays for the Ibon house. Wow, what a great place this was. Although we did many activities while in Queenstown when there. We were all more than happy to kick back and relax in Ibon house. From the layout,the decor, space for all to be together or individual time out to the magnificent views from the floor to ceiling windows. This place ticked all the boxes. Very close to town about $12 Uber drive into town. The team at Goodstays were fantastic to work with from time of booking through to us leaving

Easy get message and easy to rent the house you want

Our family of 8 adults & 1 baby stayed for 4 days and very much enjoyed the home.

We found the house to be clean and presented well. We cooked most of our meals and found that the kitchen was stocked with most of the utensils, pots & pans required however, we did find that there was only half a coffee plunger (the plunger was missing) but once contacted, MyStays delivered a new pot for us promptly. The dishwasher didn't seem to function properly however am sure that this would have been rectified after we mentioned it in our parting comments ... having said that, who would complain about washing dishes in a kitchen with such a great view!!

The spaces within the house worked well for our requirements and of course .... that view.

Thank you for a great location to have our family reunion. Maybe one day we will return.

We had the most wonderful holiday at Ibon House with our family- 10 altogether with 4 children under 4. The living, dining, kitchen and downstairs bedrooms have the most amazing views over the lake, the Remarkables and Queenstown, with floor to ceiling windows in the lounge and dining room. The views are ever-changing, so it's easy to sit for hours with coffee or wine and enjoy the view. The living area is open and spacious and was easy to heat. We chose not to use the wood fire as we had toddlers but it would have been lovely to sit around. The bathrooms were well appointed with heated towel rails and downstairs, heated floors, and the towels were thick and soft. The beds and pillows were very comfortable. The kitchen had plenty of utensils and dinnerware. The house is in a very high, quiet location and we would recommend it highly as a very special place to stay and from which to explore this beautiful part of New Zealand.

Ibon House was the perfect location for our family to share a special holiday together. The views from the huge floor to ceiling windows in the lounge and dining area have to be amongst the best in Queenstown and we loved watching the ever-changing scenery. The four downstairs bedrooms accommodated two couples and their four children and we had the upstairs bedroom. Goodstays organised the 3 cots and 3 highchairs we needed for the little ones. The heating was excellent, and the underfloor heating downstairs in the bathrooms was enjoyed. It really was a pleasure to stay at this wonderful home. If there was any criticism, it was that we could not use the recycling bin at the house and we had to take it to public recycling bins- we did not want to leave it as general rubbish.

Ibon house in Queenstown is absolutely amazing. Cannot fault anything. The view is amazing the location is great. There was plenty of room for 5 couples and very clean. Cant wait to go back again.

The View and the fire place are amazing. You feel peace and tranquility looking out the windows. There is heaps of space, our 2 families fitted comfortably. Its unfortunate that the property is not being maintained. The Bathrooms are run down and poorly presented. The beds were hard and uncomfortable. The linen was worn, lumpy and stained. There were no additional linens, blankets or pillows. There wasn't even a plug for the kitchen sink or fireplace tools.

great property with wonderful views and plenty of space. Kitchen hob and rangehood need to be replaced and as well as the pots and pans. Living areas need curtains/blinds. Property needed a bit of maintenance. There was some damage to the property prior to our arrival which we were charged for by Goodstays. When entering the property for the first time you should complete a premises condition report and forward it to them immediately to avoid being stung for damage which was clearly there prior to your arrival. The Goodstays App and emails had conflicting information and the property managers did not reply to queries via the Goodstays website.

We had a wonderful family holiday at Ibon House to celebrate our Mum's 75th Birthday.There was 10 Adults and we all were accommodated very comfortably.The location was quiet , view outstanding and everything that we could ask for.The only little criticism would be that some of the fittings are getting a wee bit tired and worn , but to be expected with hosting large numbers of people we presume all year round.

This was a wonderful family holiday house with lots of room for everyone, and wonderful views which prompted my grandson to suggest we should buy this house!!

9 of us stayed here, I gotta say the space was beyond expectations, we enjoyed our stay with comfort it was cosy and to top it off, Ibon had some of the best views from every room! Moreover everything was provided, full kitchen set, entertainment and it was so close to town! Definately will be back

Ibon house located in excellent position for viewing Queenstown and Remarkable snow mountain. Just a few minutes drive away from town center. If all beds has heat mattress that will become perfect during winter.

We loved the view from the living room, and the incredibly tasteful decor! The living areas provided a very comfortable space for our 10 guests.

I need to point out some of the downsides around the bedrooms, however:
- 3 of the bedrooms have sliding doors that lead directly into one another (I am not sure why!)
- the upstairs 'master bedroom' is not a master bedroom. It has a good ensuite, but the room is small and it has no door - if guests come to use the garage or the ground floor bathroom, they will be 'in' your room.
- the actual master bedroom appears to be locked off from the house.

Those oddities aside, the place really is spectacular. The pictures do not even start to do the place justice, and it is an entertainer's dream. My wife prepared for the wedding in the living room in front of the view of the Remarkables, and she says it was an unforgettable experience.

The property's private location out of the city is ideal: there plenty of parking, it's not too long a walk down the hill (although I wouldn't want to walk back up), and it's a very short drive down to the bottom.

The property was kept very clean, we were very happy with the presentation.

Stunning view but a few things could have been better - drains were a little blocked, toilet was constantly running, was a little light on cutlery.

180 degree cliff lake view, enjoy the sun from sun raising to sunset, enjoy the night views of the town, so close to town centre, everything met our expectations, spacious indoor and outdoor space, lovely and characteristic decorations, modern renovated bathrooms. Professional and up to date property management and customers services. No doubt to go back and recommend to friends

We stayed at Ibon house for 11 days through January. House was clean, comfortable and easily accommodated 10 people. View is spectacular at anytime of the day or night. Only negatives, Lack of decent utensils eg. frypans etc, fridge too small for 10 people. No recycling bins for plastic/glass etc. Overall though we enjoyed our stay and would definitely recommend Ibon House.

We had 3 generations of my family (1 son, 1 daughter, their spouses and kids) and all were comfortably housed. Someone needs to take better care of plants in pots on the rear terrace and to supply more waste paper baskets, but when you consider the view and the convenience to regional wonders it was very good indeed. We enjoyed cooking and eating together during the long light of evening looking at the spectacular view.

A fantastic home for our family. There was plenty of space for us all (children and adults), the house was warm and cozy, the beds were comfortable, the bathrooms excellent, and the views were absolutely spectacular. Would thoroughly recommend this accommodation. Goodstays were promptly and professionally responsive to the requests we made.

The view from every room of his house is gorgeous, and it changes all day as the light and clouds change. The house itself is nicely laid out and comfortable. Our family of 10 stayed a week and had a great time. We especially liked that the tables, both inside and outside, comfortably seat 10. Our weather wasn't great, but the outside patio is large and we would have used it a lot in warmer weather. The walk to town takes about 35 minutes and is pretty, but we were not game for walking back up the hill to get home. We had cars and there are taxis in town, and apparently a bus that gets close to the house. Being up the hill is the price you pay for the beautiful view, and it is totally worth it!
Little maintenance things keep me from giving a fully fabulous review. Some lights weren't working, the dishwasher is temperamental, the Internet was annoyingly slow, and there were other things, all of which would have been easily fixed with an hour or two of a handyman's time. (I wrote to Goodstays about this, and hopefully they'll fix things before the next guests arrive.)

Absolutely loved our stay at Ibon House. The Bach is huge and comfortable. Ample room for 10. Unparalleled views from the whole house. Convenient to town though not via foot. Slightly disappointing that the spa had to be hired on top of the Bach, but the hire was easy and recommended.

Perfect for social gathering and entertaining with great facilities.

WOW ! . What a view ! Very big spacious family home with a great feel to it. Open fire place with enough lounge and meal seating for 10 people easy plus. All bedrooms had lake views. Its a 2km easy walk to town and a $15 cab fare home after a great dinner and drinks at the end of a very busy day in this town. Every day was an new adventure. Our favorite adventure was without a doubt the Wilderness Jet boat up the Dart river. It's a must for a family adventure. The house is on a private road so no wheely bins but just some planning on rubbish removal and a short trip to recycling dump near airport and very easy to manage. We would be very happy to use this house again or recommend it to all our friends and we already have done since coming home. Its not cheap but other options of 3 or 4 units closer to town are a lot more expensive. You would just need transport for your stay and for 10 of us we hired a 12 seater Mini bus for $1400 EZI Rentals to go anywhere we wanted. It was a cracker place for a cracker of a holiday. Well done NZ ! XO

Manager Glenn not helpful very slow to get back with queries. No rubbishy bins only 2 plastic garbage bags for whole stay period for 10 people. Got charged for taking rubbishy away . Useless old kitchen pans that should be thrown out. Oven door doesn't seal , fridge far too small & no cleaning cloths or spray . Had to buy
Cleaning kitchen bathroom spray & cloths . Very poorly managed as many guest book reviews have said same as me . Someone has to do something for expensive house with sub standard equipment.

This place is the perfect place to relax and unwind. There was 10 of us here and we had everything we could possibly need. Stunning views, comfortable beds, plenty of sun & space... We'll be back next year for sure!

This property has the most astounding views. Perched high on a mountain side, it presented us with 180 degree views over the lake and Queenstown. The windows have been positioned to maximise the scenery from every room upstairs and downstairs. The house was generally clean and well presented however there were some aspects worth mentioning:
1. The toilet paper holders in all the toilets were coming off the wall and there was insufficient toilet paper provided for 9 guests
2. There were no dishwashing tablets which should have been provided
3. The sinkerator did not work
4. Some power outlets did not work
5. The fridge size was too small to hold food and drink for 9 people and a small bar fridge would have been useful
6. Oven door does not close properly and food took twice as long to cook
6. Shorter stem wine glasses would have fitted in the dishwasher
7. Several doors have squeaking hinges
8. We needed to top up the "S" bend in the upstairs hot water cylinder overflow which then stopped the sewer smells in the upper bedroom.
9. Hopefully you regularly change the code for the 'key safe' otherwise the system is only as secure as the honesty of the previous renters.
10. The utensil hanging block over the mobile food prep bench was a hazard for taller people and served no real purpose. Could be removed and stored in garage.
11. Understand the trend is now to make up beds with bottom and top sheet, doona without doona cover and another sheet on top. This looks like an untidy short cut and an effort to avoid having to do laundry. It does not give the renters the impression of a neat and tidy, well thought out bedroom.

The house is good

The house was everything I'd hoped it would be. There were 8 adults staying at the house which accommodated all of us easily, although we did have some negative things to comment on. Some of the utensils in the kitchen were dirty or unusable mainly the small size frying pan it needs to be tossed. The fridge is way to small and the dishwasher doesn't clean properly. There was a container of lollies between the cushions on the lounge, and nail clippings on the carpet next to the recliner chair. The garbage was a major problem only being allocated 2 bags for our week's stay was very inadequate. I would suggest more detail to cleaning thoroughly and perhaps another fridge in the garage for drinks etc.

third time stay... the only place that I want stay at Queenstown

I would definitely recommend this home to friends. It has the most incredible views and spacious living areas. The lounge was the perfect place to recover after the marathon. Hopefully we can stay again soon!

My family and I spent a week at ibon house during aug-sept for my son's 21st.The house was absolutely amazing.Offering large living areas,uninterupted views and convenient location to Queenstown.
The open fire place provided a wonderful ambience whilst admiring the wintry vista.
Queenstown has alot of great restaurants, bars and fun activities for the whole family.
Highly recommend this property

Amazing 5 bedroom house with a beautiful outlook overlooking the lake and mountains. Very warm house with plenty of heating as well as a lovely open fireplace. Only thing I could say it needed was a vacuum cleaner or a dustbuster so crumbs etc could be easily picked up. Other than that just wonderful.

We wish we could stay longer. We never thought about renting the house like this and usually stayed at the hotel. however, it turns out way better to stay at the house like yours, greater location and facilities!

Beautiful location, fantastic layout of living space for a large group of people, stunning views. Kitchen let it down, not enough utensils and crockery (such as mugs) to accomadate 10 people. No dishcloth etc. Also bedroom heaters on a timer and turned off after 30mins. I imagine this could be quite cold in the winter? Still having said that, I would go back here again- beautiful house!!

The house was just wonderful. We picked it for the view looking out over the lake, while sitting in the comfy lounge. The house suited very well our family of nine aults.

Perfect house for extended family. The house sits on a hill and is a downhill walk to town (about 30 minutes) and a steep uphill walk home. However the view is stunning. Some minor inconveniences with house but nothing that dampened our enjoyment of this excellent property. Highly recommend it.

Excellent accommodation for our group of 9 Hikers, who each needed their own bed.we hired 2 roller beds to suit this requirement. We loved the large sitting area with the huge open fire, the sunny kitchen and dining area. A cosy alcove which captured the sun, was perfect for reading or a quiet moment away from the crowd. The panoramic views completed this perfect home.

Everything was lovely and plenty of room, property manager very help full. Overall had a great time

Hi this is a fantastic property but the kitchen is ill equipped and we had to buy an egg slice and mugs. The house sleeps 10 and there were 8 of us and it never felt cramped and we could all escape to our rooms etc. I think the pictures do not do the house jsutice! It is so much better with that fabulous view!

This place is outstanding the views are amazing. There is plenty of room for everyone, the rooms are spacious, not far from the centre if Queenstown. When we walked into the house we all went Wow. Highly recommend this property to anyone.

We stayed for 5 nights at Ibon House and thoroughly enjoyed it. The house easily accomodated us (3 adults and 4 children and a baby). The views are stunning from every room - it was such a pleasure to sit in the living room and look out over the lake. The living area is open plan, spacious and very comfortable. The bedrooms downstairs (4 bedrooms) are very comfortable. One of the bedrooms didn't have heating but Goodstays got us a portable electronic heater and it was fine. There were some small issues with the plumbing (the shower in one of the bathrooms flooded the floor) but Goodstays also arranged a plumber to fix this and it wasn't too much of a bother. Overall we LOVED it there and would highly recommend it. The location is also great provided you have a car (about a 7 minute drive into town). Hard to walk as the house is located up a steep hill.

What a beautiful house with sweeping magnificent views. Our family stayed in this house with another family and it was a wonderful place to stay - plenty of space for everyone, great facilities and a breathtaking view to die for. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

My family and I had such a wonderful Queenstown holiday. Arranging the booking was easy, and the property manager once was arrived was great. We were all blown away when first arriving at Ubon House - the views, the enormous house, and lovely, simple furnishings. It was perfect for our family. There is already talk of when we will return!! The house & views were stunning - exactly what we were hoping for. We didn't have water on arrival & continued to experience water issues for the duration of our stay. Managemant weren't helpful or positive when we sought help (twice) but compensation was offered after we left. Everyday we mysteriously came home to dead flys all through the upstairs. Couldn't ask for a better house & location, just a better experience. Maybe better luck next time..
